原来，不久前已在新疆艰苦边远地区驻守多年的刘兆翔因工作调整前往新单位武警扬州支队报到，在阿克苏红旗坡机场候机时，他发现一名年仅一岁多的幼儿突发昏厥，情况十分危急。在判断孩子并非简单噎食后，刘兆翔一边请求周边群众联系机场急救和地方120，一边果断实施幼儿心肺复苏。因幼儿身体娇小，他谨慎精准地进行心脏按压并辅以人工呼吸。此时机场医生赶到，经初步检查，幼儿情况趋于稳定，随即被转送至阿克苏第一人民医院进一步救治。

看到孩子转危为安，刘兆翔默默整理好行装登上了飞往新岗位的飞机。飞机上，他仍牵挂着幼儿。抵达仪征后，他多方打听孩子的情况，得知孩子已无大碍顺利出院悬着的心才终于放下。

倍受感动的家属专程从外地赶到武警仪征中队将一面锦旗和一封感谢信交到刘兆翔手中，家属激动地表示“是刘警官给了孩子第二次生命！他是我们全家的大恩人！”（通讯员 仪军轩 陶德飞 扬州市新闻传媒中心记者 姜涛 文/图）
